Ah...a bit of VT in TN. This band and I have a long-term relationship and friendship that goes back a few years now. What was unique, for me at least, was that I was under the 3 and out rule here. Normally I shoot their whole show with stage access, so I had to get out of my comfort zone and capture them quickly. The band recently changed out bassists (Catherine Popper formally of Ryan Adams' band The Cardinals) and Benny Yurco who might be Burlington VT's answer to Warren Haynes he plays in so many bands. New dynamic, new rules, new photos.

Grace and the band were the darlings of Bonnaroo. They played at least 6 performances (some short) over 4 days, guesting with moe and Govt. Mule, one major press conference and at least 5 press appearences. I'm afraid the days of seeing this band in a small venue are going, going....gone.

As always, comments and critique are encouraged.

Animal has an all access laminate with the band. When the kick drum gets kickin' Animal kicks right along. The stories Animal could tell!

Grace and Catherine Popper do add a certain visual to the stage. As for fingernails, Grace plays electric guitar as well as keyboards and I would bet they are broken, not bitten.

Can I ask what you don't like about 2, Tim. Something about that capture captured my muse.

And that's what I like about that capture. Goes to show that everyone has a different view of a photo.
