Second hand flash

What's the most you'd pay (UK Sterling) for a second hand 580EX? Is it worth paying more than you could buy a new 430EX mkII for!?!

The 580EX can be used as master, 430 cannot. So if you want a flash capable of being master, the choice is simple.

The 580EX Mk2 (yes, I mean 580 here) has little advantage (IMO) and a disadvantage compared to the 580EX if you use wireless flash a lot (Have to go through a menu to set it to master)

580EX rotates 180 degrees left and right. 430 will only go 90 degrees left (this is a biggie!)

I think I'd go with the 580. No idea on the prices.

Thanks for the info Rene, that does make quite ea difference, so much more though needed..

I tried out a 550 flash, when it was the latest one out. The previous owner used a battery pack with it. When I tried it, I used AA batteries and the recycle time was HORRIBLE. I wondered if the battery pack somehow ruined the capacitors, or whatever. I swore then to never buy a used flash. At least an expensive one.
