I've had a 0.48x adapter that I got from 47st. Photo on E-Bay for about a week, and was just playing with it. What I noticed is if you take off the "macro" lens and just put the other one (of the two) on the camera it gives a distorted image - the problem is G2 can't focus properly with it. BUT as I accidentaly found out if you switch G2 in to MACRO mode by pressing the "flower" button next to the viewfinder if focuses quite well!

I've just put up some quick snaps here:

click on pix to see full-size unaltered G2 images (they are BIG files).

~ Leon.

PS: The 0.48x and 2x adapters were US$110 + S&H.

Leon,

Last week I got new prescription eyeglasses, and it really hurts to look at fish-eye images like that! 8)

The images are sharper than I would have expected from a super-wide angle lens in that price range. By comparison, the high-quality Raynox fish-eye lens is over US$300.

However, there appears to be some chromatic distortion going on in the high contrast areas of your images. Look at the edges of the keyboard, especially where the keys meet the body, but also all around the keyboard itself. The red/magenta fringe should not be there. (Or is your keyboard trimmed in red? :D )

Regards,

Mitch
