Here are a series of photos from D-Day Oklahoma. This is the biggest paint ball game in the world. Over 3000 players recreate the D-Day Normandy invasion at a field in Wyandotte, Oklahoma called D-day Adventure Park.
As I have often said there is no sport that is as difficult and punishing on photographers as paintball and IMO in my almost ten years of photographing paintball this is by far the most difficult event to photograph. The temperatures were in the upper 80s, the humidity was very high and there are 3000 paintball players simultaneously shooting their paintball guns at anything that moves (especially me) on a hilly 600 acres. At this event I carried two 1D Mark III with a 300 2.8 prime and an EF 28-300 and a Rebel with an EF 15mm fisheye and my 580EX II flash and probably walked 10 miles in the heat with a paintball mask on with all this stuff.
I shot the event for Jungle Magazine, Paintball Sports Magazine and SplatXD.
I see that there are now a lot of paintball photographers here on POTN and I would suggest they all try shooting a scenario event where there are no side lines and the action is completely unpredictable.
