Again, to echo the other comments, the series is spectacular, however #5 is FANTASTIC! On that note, if you could find out where they are based out of I ma sure they woud appreciate a file of those pictures, they might want to frame one or use them as training material.

They are such great shots I am willing to bet they would offer you to come do a ride-along with them sometime.

Again, strong work.

Agree #5 is my favorite as well. Is that exhaust around the guy on the line in pic #7?

At the risk of being redundant: Number 5, oh yeah. Postcard meets reality. Good job with the series, I like 4 as well.

Very nice photos. If I had to nit pick I would like to see you slow down your shutter speed. The rotors need more blur in my opinion.

Excellent documentary work.

#5 (as mentioned by most) is simply epic!

Stunning shots!

Have you tried contacting the RAF News to see if you can get them published?

I did E-mail the Media And Communications Officer (Anne Russell) at RAF Boulmer, with a link to a gallery of the images, and this is her response;

Dear Les

Thank you so much for forwarding the photos to my personal e-mail. They are wonderful! Would you allow me to use one of the helicopter with Bamburgh castle in the background for our RAF Boulmer handbook? I am always trying to get good shots to advertise the station and the Search and Rescue Force, but I understand if there are copyright issues.

I have had a look at your gallery and am absolutely blown away with your images. I am especially drawn to the landscapes and I envy your exceptional talent. Is this your profession or is photography a hobby? (I have bought myself a Canon EOS 400D and hope one day to be able to take good photos)

Thanks again for taking the time to send your wonderful pictures - you are an inspiration.

Kind regards

Anne Russell

Way to go, Les!

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

Excellent!!!!

If you contact the manufaturer of the chopper and the rigging, they might use the shots, too!

Les, very nice shots. I work on 202 Squadron, at Boulmer. Would there be any chance of putting the photos on disk, or emailing them to me? I can send you a couple of SAR gizzits for your troubles :-)

And Davey, nope, not me. But I know who it is ;-)a
