Set up at 5:30 am and waited for the good morning light to bounce off the cliff faces. Shot with 5D2, 24-105L, and CPL to enhance the reflections.

Exactly...plenty of shooting locales up and down the creek. Just be sure to get there before the swimmers... "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son". - Dean Wormer

I would love to know if you also used an ND filter for this or did you stop it way down for the low shutter speed. What was your shutter speed for this? I have not yet been able to capture a waterfall/river shot that I like yet so if you are willing to share...I am all ears (or eyes )Did not use an ND filter for this shot...just my B+W Kaesemann polarizer. There are even more beyond the top of the frame...you just gotta wade through the creek to get to them. "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son". - Dean Wormer

EXIF as follows: ISO: 50 Aperture: f/22 Shutter: 2.5 seconds Focal length: 80mm For shots like this, you need to persevere. We set up at 5:30am, but the best light didn't occur until about 7:20 or so, and even then it only lasted for about 15 minutes. I was looking to get this specific shot, so I had to sit for nearly two hours until the light was just right. The only advice that I can give is to scout some areas in advance, get a good idea as to what your composition will be or should be, then head back when the light is best (early morning or late afternoon). Plan your arrival to give yourself plenty of time to set your gear up...then wait. Landscape shooting requires patience (and a good pair of water shoes). ![]() Thanks for the info...I need all the help I can get!
