but now that i have the 15-85 i use it less as i find 15 to be wide enough in many cases

this seems so nice! does anyone think this would be nice for newborn/maternity shots as well as portraits and things? it seems like it works for a lot of different styles?? also the above pic makes me want this lens because i do bands as well.

IMO, no this would be a poor choice, especially for maternity/newborns. The distortion will be very unflattering. In the pic above, look at the legs of the gentleman on the left and right. Notice the distortion? And the closer you get to the subject, more pronounced it will be.
