I think that the post started by SteveNC "Stolen equipment registry for POTN members, plus additional resources" is a great Idea

I just wish that other members would refrain from posting non-related chatter to it, and keep the information relevant to the original post. I would hate to see that post fill up with a bunch of unrelated comments and such.

By no means im trying to be a jerk or anything, I just think we should keep that resource as "clean" as possible of unrelated posts

by the way, I think it should be made a sticky as well

Thank you, I wanted to post exactly what you said above but refrained. I already requested it be a sticky via PM to Pekka, but no response just yet.

I've removed the chat from the thread.

It might be an idea for you to edit your first post to ask people not to comment in the thread unless they have an entry to add or have information regarding stolen goods (although that's best done via PM).

Feel free to use the "report post button"

when you see any off-topic chat and we'll remove it.

Just a reminder that this thread is not to be used as an avenue of negative feedback for POTN deals gone bad. This this is only for stolen goods.

Looks like a good idea to me. Hopefully, not many people will need to be posting to the thread...

Tell him to go to the resources listed, especially Trace.com - law enforcement and other agencies actually use that. I registered my 70-200 stolen and was surprised that it had already been listed by the police department to which I reported it stolen.

Cool, I would say next time a customer comes in to forward him on to those sites :) The thing about them is that they only work if everyone knows to check there before purchasing goods or to register their stolen items. Just a suggestion!
