I do not know if anyone can help me. Does anyone know if there is an adaptor or anything that you can but that will make an old, non digital Canon mount lens fit a 300D or alternatively one that will work with an old school Olympus mount. These lenses were all for film SLR's so I appreciated that there will be no AF but I am wanting to use them at an airshow at the weekend and as I tend to manual focus for that kind of work anyway that would not matter.

Sorry to ask what is probably a really dumb question but I am not very knowledgable with regards to digital as yet and have got several converters (2 x and 3x) as well as a nice 80-300mm lens that I had for my Olympus so if there is a way that I can make it work, then great !!

Thank you for any help you can give me

OM mount Olympus Zuiko lenses are very easy to use on a Canon DLSR. Get an adapter. I get most of mine from Fotodiox.com. Then you can use that old lens. MF and stop down metering, of course. Look at my gear list and see the possibilities. Ok, I am down to only one Oly lens at the moment. Of all the brands of lenses available to use on your Canon DLSR, Olympus have a large following. Many will tell you they made some of the best.

Old Canon FD mount lenses are a bit of a problem because they need to sit closer to the sensor than a Canon dSLR can allow in order to be able to acheive infinity focus. There are adapters with optical elements to correct for this but then you lose image quality with the extra glass. The best solution I've seen was to modify the FD lenses to EF mount... but that involved a large grinder... :)
