CC welcome on either the photography or the PP -- I'd like to make and take these better. This is just a small sampling of the 400 or so I took over 4 days. I used a 40D, and a Canon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 (non-L). Digital Photo Professional to develop the RAW, maybe increased Contrast and/or saturation a tick was the only PP.

very scenic. some pointers i have for photos 4 and 7 would be to include some foreground space in order to add more depth to them. In general (for all the photos) I would choose to shoot in the morning or late afternoon in order to avoid the harsh sunlight (which tends to wash out the greens). I know alot of the time shooting during those times is hard, but if you can do it you will will be alot more content with your results. In photo 3 I would use a high f.stop and maybe a neutral density filter to slow down the shutter in order to add movement to the water. Photos 1 and 3 are most interesting to me because of the amount of objects in them.

This is why this forum is great... you get a variety of opinions. In this case I will have to disagree with the suggestion of a slower shutter speed. I think that the fast shutter speed captured the rapid movement of the water well. I, personally, think that a slower shutter speed would make the water look too silky and evoke a calmer response, rather than the somewhat un-calm/unsettled/rapid impression the water in the photo has at the moment with the faster shutter speed.

Cheers, Craig

Good call. The water was quite violent and loud coming around this bend, which I thought made it more interesting. I actually thought of slowing down the shutter, but I thought a silky water effect would just look out of place, and wouldn't capture the feel of what it was like to be there.
