If you're not a serious underwater photo nut, than it's cheaper to buy an A series, S series, or S1 or S2 IS camera, and an underwater housing for it, than to get just a housing for any of the EOS series cameras. They still go to 40 meters/135ish feet, but don’t cost two arms and a leg, plus you get a great walk around camera (think beach, skiing, and other dusty/wet environments). Here in the States the housings can be had for $175 - $200 ish from B&H and many other retailers. The down side to not getting an EOS Housing is the lack of dedicated ETTL flashes (which are also two arms and a leg). You can get some slave flashes for the non EOS housings that work really well though (from what I’ve read)
