Can anyone identify this flower? Found it in my parent's back yard.
Thanks!

No idea, but that has got to be one the sweetest flower photos ever.

By the way, you have some great photographs in your galleries. The shots you have of people are very nice. And The Starry Night Mobile shot...that's the most awesome paint job on a car possible.

It's certainly in the amarylis family (Lily), but I have no idea on the species.

Beautiful shot!

^^^ I see he has it now.

No Problem, Joby. I should also mention that it's an excellent photo and probably one of the best photos I've seen of Gloriosa supurba. Great focus and DOF.

Where I am from (Australia) this plant is, unfortunately, a serious weed. I often see it growing in sand dunes. Little plantlets drop off the mother plant hastening its spread. Pretty sure it goes dormant for lengths of time as well when it has no aboveground portions visible, making control problematic. It does have a nice flower though

Cheers, Craig

My parents told me that it is multiplying like crazy in their back yard. They started off with just one and when I shot this photo there were at least a dozen. If their back yard wasn't such a mess I would have also tried a wide shot to include all of them.
I shot this with the 135 2.0. What an awesome lens!

most species of daylily naturalize pretty profusely. i have had to dig mine up to get rid of them; they took over my entire beds. when in bloom, they are pretty, but the other 80% of the time, i'm not a fan.

this is a BEAUtiful shot, however. well done.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
