Has anyone tried it yet (in other words: who's willing to risk killing the camera :))??

Yeah, I'd like to hear more from the brave souls.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

check cinema5d.com for the original source and development. havent heard anyone bricking their 5d if thats what everyone is afraid of. there are glitches but that's what you get from a beta-testing version.

I do not have a good use for it now and I can wait until a good running firmware is updated.

I'd like to see DSLR firmware customizing in general to pick up speed, in the near future. Reliable and bug-free downloads with unlocked/new software features, some of which, at the moment, may be unavailable to us simply because of marketing reasons.

But this is a good start. I've read through their forums and realize that editing firmware without any help from Canon is not an easy task at all, but hopefully we will see this one finished, and perhaps custom firmware downloads for other models as well.

It would seem just for the audio gain controls it would be worth the try.

If you "brick" your 5D-2 will canon ever re-flash it for you?
Even if you pay?

It's all shades of the 300D hack.. but better.
