This weekend I'm going fishing with some friends up north. We are renting a cottage and will be in four different boats over the weekend (2 people per boat). I want to bring my camera and a couple of lenses but I'm torn on which to bring. I know that I'll probably see a bunch of things that I will want to take pictures of, but I also don't want to bring everything with me. Any one have suggestions? I'm thinking the 70-200 for distance shots of the other guys fishing, but then I also expect some nice landscape possibilities (17-40). But there are always the macro shots, and just some general pictures of the gang (24-70).

I'm torn, and would appreciate any assistance. At the same time, I'm a little nervous about having the gear in the boat with me while we fish.

I would probably take the 17-40 and 70-200. I doubt you'll miss the range between 40-70 and the 17-24 might come in handy.
