It was me, I sent you new one(red) it looks nice with the gitzo...

It does, doesn't it!
It's my camera bling.

It was very nice to see the comparison of the last segment of the legs between the two. Thanks for the post.

But for me the fact that the series2 is almost twice as long as the 1541t collapsed and is a pound heavier made the decision for me. It's the difference between thinking twice to take the heavier set of sticks or just packing it on my Think Tank all the time.

That's exactly why I got the traveller pod, and it's now going on all of my backpacking trips without a second thought. There's no way I'd take the 2-series, if it doesn't fit in my day pack, it'll never come 'just in case' - only on pure photography excersions. Luckily for my hubby, I got the 2-series first, otherwise I would probably be happy with the traveller pod, and never bought a 2nd set of legs.
However I'm glad I have the 2-series, especially for windy conditions.

yabbie, Nice review, helped me to narrow down between 2 series and 1 series. Thanks!

Hey Alice, thank you so much for the pics, I'm deciding on the Q3 and Q3T and finally after much hard search around the internet i'm so happy to see some real pics and comparison..
i'm wondering can you tilt the Q3 enough to allow it to rest the 3rd leg inbetween the two knobs? if i can see some top view and another ISO matric view of the issue perhaps It would help get a clearer picture for me and anyone else who is wondering... Cheers for the good review. =)

Thank you so much for the review. I think I'll go for the Markins Q3 Traveler Ballhead. :-P You seem to have attached a RRS clamp instead of the Markins clamp that normally comes with the ballhead attached. But what I'm wondering about is if it is possible to detach the clamp from the Q3 Traveler too. So far I've only seen photos from the Q3 only and NOT the Q3 Traveler. I really would like to use RRS clamps because nearly all of my gear is better compatible with RRS than Markins...

Have anybode tried to detach the clamp from the Q3 Traveler and can report? ???

You can buy an RRS clamp and send it to Markins. They will install it on their ballhead for no cost to you.

Thanks for the answer. I'm nut sure if that's possible in Germany too but I'll give it certainly a try.

However, someone tried it by himself?

Around what height would you say the eye piece was with GT2531 + markins Q10 + gripped camera fully extended without the column?
