I like the pose and composition but the lighting doesn't do it for me. It just looks like a snapshot imo.

It looks like this shot was taken with on camera flash as the models dress appears to be catching all of the light while her face and feet are in the outer fringes. I like the composition as well, however I would have liked to seen the model looking at the camera and have you try off camera lighting. You have some great pictures in your MM port!

You're correct. It was taken with on camera flash. I will experiment with off camera lighting as well (even buy a complete portable studio solution) but currently I haven't got the money for this. I may look into a strobist type solution in the mean time.

Thank you very much for your kind words....

yeah...the flash really kills this shot. I think it would have been much better with better lighting.

agree with all. I might also try to shoot that shot with say f4 or so. F8 really brings a lot of the buildings into focus. Or maybe just shoot with a cleaner bg.....imo.

It looks like you all are a little bit irritated because of the white dress this girl is wearing. Personally, I don't think the shot is so bad. Although improvements can always be made.

Here is another one from the same session (but it's obviously not the same model)....

Yes, I think right now the best thing would be lighting improvements because the background looks gloomy and dark. I don't see a problem with a white dress if you work on proper lighting.

I'm no expert but the shadows of her legs are distracting to me.

I like the pose on the first image a lot better than the second but the facial expressions on both models are odd, however i wish i had the car to play with and see what I could come up with.

aahh... people.. tape the on camera flash with duct tape. It ruins a great shot. even a great model and a ferrari can't save these. everything is flat and just strait up snap shot like. but i will admit. it took me some time to realize this myself :) we have all sinned. ;)

The first shot...the clouds are fantastic, the car is fantastic, but why does the girl look like she's taking a dump on the wheel? Looks very uncomfortable and makes me cringe a little just looking at it.

Also, instead of flash, maybe a longer non-flash exposure and use bright flashlight to illuminate the model?

You're lucky to have such subjects to photograph!
