Broken 300mm prime :(

not the canon but a sigma.

Bought it second hand, used it for one day AF speed etc.. lovely.

Well inbetween refocussing for a shot it stops focusing, switch to MF and still not focusing. Basically the distance meter inside the lens isnt rotating with the focus ring like all my working glass.

Any body have any ideas/Costs? been in the same position?

Gutted as was really looking forward to using this at a golf event over the weekend.

The lens is fine externally. The only thing externaly you can note is the little window where the distance meter rotates on working glass doesnt rotate when I rotate the focus ring in MF and AF it just wont move at all, lens whines slightly, so im suspecting the HSM is dead
