I've been shopping around tons of online camera shops, on line electronic stores, the local shops (no way) and ebay trying to find the best bang for my bucks when the 50D goes from wish list to reality. Found a really good package deal on ebay for exactly what I want to start with; body 2 lens, (18-55 and the 55-250 IS) 2 16 gig cards, off brand flash and some other small goodies. Has anyone bought one of these package deals and if so did you have any problems with the seller? I know ebay can be tricky but this guys has almost no bad comments. Not going local as both the 'name camera shops" can't match anything I've found on the net. Anyone on ebay to stay away from? If you don't want to post a name email it to me.

My camera doesn't take great pictures.....I do!

A link to Ebay listing would help. That being said, most of the package deals aren't worth the money. Usually the bundled accessories are overpriced and of poor quality. You are usually much better off dealing with a reputable online vendor such as B&H, Adorama, or Canoga Camera to name but a few.

I don't even have to look at the link to say that these package 'deals' are completely crap.
They include the bare bones official products, like the camera and lens, but then they swap out the OEM battery and other significant peripherals with 3rd party, extremely cheap stuff. On top of that, they make you think it's a deal because they add on other accessories, but they either are complete junk or you never end up using them.

I'd stay away.

Read the replies to this thread and make your decision.

Personally, the layout of both seller's 'stores' seem too alike for my better sense. (Meaning that my BS detector is in the red zone.)

right, stay away - it's full of junk but if you want to compare look at prices from B&H, Adorama, etc. for the acceptable things (50D, 55-250IS and 18-55IS)
