if i didnt already have this flash i would've bought one..it was a steal at that price esp. with the rebates ending on the 11th. if i didnt like it i could sell it for the same price or more...
@279 you're better off buying from adorama ($240 w/ free ship)

Just an FYI to everyone who orders Canon products from Newegg. Now, I love Newegg to death for PC parts, but I have spoken to Canon directly and Newegg is NOT, repeat NOT an authorized dealer of Canon products so your warranty with Canon is pretty much null and void. Just be aware.

Cheers.

I actually called Canon a couple weeks ago, Newegg is confirmed to be an authorized dealer. Not sure why they're sending mixed messages.

The guy told me that you have to have a walk in store to be an authorized retailer. Since Newegg is strictly online, they are not. From what he said.

Weird, they made me give them the zip code of the Newegg headquarters. They ran it through and said it showed up on their list of authorized dealers.

Are you sure? Given that criteria Amazon wouldn't be an authorized retailer either, but they are (aren't they??).

Unless things have changed since June of 08, thats what the guy said. Thats why I bought my XTi at B&H instead of Newegg. Newegg was cheaper. Now some the people at Amazon.com have their own store so that might count. IDK. I stick to the reputable camera equipment dealers to avoid the "gray" area.

Yeah, it's not worth the hassle to save a few extra bucks
