Have a look on ebay and you will see loads of CS4 extended - unopened, still shrink wrapped etc for between £60 and £120.

The program from Adobe invites me to pay £868.25

Are these pirates? How can they be the real thing? If so how can they sell them?

If you look at the licenses on the listings they say either single retail, bulk retail, academic or media only..... What are the differences and implications of these licences for my home use?

As a student i can get it new for £140.

If you are a student yourself you can get it from software 4 students.

It is possible that these are student copies that someone is selling to make a bit of profit if they themselves are at uni.

i personally wouldn't go for it.

if you aren't a student yourself go for CS3, much cheaper

Yes - they are fakes. I bought one of these and it turned out to be fake. A few days later the user was gone.

Yes, I thought as much. How can these be on such open sale? Surely there must be some comeback for the sellers?

What if I bought a copy via paypal linked to my credit card and it did turn out to be fake..... Isn't there buyer protection via these methods? Doesn't that make it worth a gamble?

The student copy - what is different to the normal extended version apart from the price? My misses may be going back to college in September!

There is no difference with the student copy (other than price). I owned a student copy of CS2 and was even allowed to upgrade to a non-student copy of CS4.
