The first place I'd try is Canoga Camera. Their prices are comparable to B&H with the only downside being the California sales tax. The other place I'd try would be Samy's Camera. They have several locations in Southern California, with their downtown LA store being our west coast equivalent to B&H. While Samy's online pricing is competitive, their in-store pricing is a little higher.

Calumet is a MUCH better bet than Sammy's for a decent price if Canoga doesn't have it...

Canoga probably has the best price. IIRC, their internet price is their in store price. Scammies has a seperate (meaning higher) price if you buy in store and you have to haggle to get any discount over MSRP.

I'm not sure about Calumet's pricing though, but they seem to charge close to MSRP IIRC.

you could also try simons camera in hollywood.. their prices are great, and their small staff, and great inventory is awesome. i have been spending more money there as of late over other places.

try going to Samy's. I was able to get their store to match the on-line price which is the same as B&H, just California sale's tax. Which is not too bad.

If you have time, you can buy online from Amazon.com.

A 50D + 28-135 + 18-200 costs only around 1550 USD.

You have to go all the way to checkout to see additional discounts.

But it takes sometime to ship.
