Yep, it's time for another "**** about paypal!" thread.

They locked my bank account from being used with paypal because someone tried to access it who wasn't me. Which is understandable, and I am glad that they prevented someone grabbing my money. They just prevent any bank account with any suspicious activity from conducting business with paypal. That's fine. I can understand that they are trying to cover themselves and protect the real owner of the account.

The problem is that I just sold a $2000 item and they won't send me a check over $500. Because I can't withdraw to my bank account, they told me that this was the only way to get my money off of their site. I have talked to multiple people and all have said the same thing and all have been equally unhelpful in trying to speed this process up. Apparently their policy is that they will not let a user withdraw more than $500 a month by check. I can either sign up with what I am sure is their craptastic paypal card to get the money, or wait.

So now I'm going to be stuck waiting at least four months to collect payment on the item. Thank you so much paypal! I had heard the rumors of them being terrible, but now I am just not going to use their services again. What a waste of time.

I would be pissed!

But you can create a new bank account and attach it as your main paypal bank account. then you can just transfer the money into that. Wont be instant, maybe take 5 days total but it wont take 4 months

True - it's just a mighty pain in the arse. I'd rather not have to drive 20 minutes to my nearest branch and then wait.

I just want MY money. Grr.

I wouldn't link my bank account to paypal. If I do, i just link it up get the account verified, then I would go to the bank and close the bank account.

It may not help you out now but I just checked my account to see the withdrawal limits and it was only $500 also. So I went to the help center and did this.

1. Log in to your account.
2. Click the My Account tab.
3. Click the View Limits link next to the Balance Information.
4. Click the Lift Limits link.

Now I don't know how much it'll let me take out now but if I sell anything over $500 I'll post the results but there's no more limit link.

I just opened another bank account to try and link it with paypal.

They still refused to authenticate it because their deposits to verify who I am didn't go through.

FAIL. This company ****ing sucks. Excuse my anger.
