White balance is a little yellow, and I'd like to see more ground.

Beautiful shot. The 12 mm FL really gives a nice sky view.

If you have worked with layers and masks in Photoshop, you can use it to darken the sky a bit and still not lose the effect of the stars and Milky Way.

The 50D is doing a nice job at ISO 1600.

I hope you do not mind the edit -- I made a few tweaks that included darkening the sky and cooling the color balance.

Magnificent composition. I would like to see the levels turned up in that sky though. Just for interest's sake. It looks like there is a lot more data hiding there.

Baz.

Very nice! I would cool this shot down a bit, in terms of color temp.

How you get so much detail and the galaxy in 30 sec? I've done 5 minutes to no avail.
