I've been using Windows7 Beta, and the official release is a few weeks away, but unfortunately, it requires a fresh install:oops:

is there a file, or settings folder, etc, that I can save, that keeps track of the libraries imported, and the settings/actions I've done on the pictures?

It's a bit more than a few weeks away, it's October 22nd.

Anyway you just need to back up your catalogue (Lightroom 2 Catalog.lrcat by default) which will be in your "Pictures" folder in a folder called Lightroom (by default).

You'll also want to make sure you've got all of your pictures backed up, and your presets and maybe even your preferences. Default locations are here: http://www.lightroomqueen.com …le-locations-lightroom-2/ (external link)

As long as you've got the catalog, and you put the image files back in the same location (or go through and relink the missing ones if they move), then yes. On the blog, linked above, search for the word 'moving' and you'll find a post about moving to a new computer - all of the principles are exactly the same.
