Does the Canon 70-200 ever go on sale?

it does. sometimes.. but you have to watch it very closely. but people usually post on here in the market watch section when things go on sale.

but you can find them used for a good price too.. in excellent condition.

These are available through aurthorized resellers, but they are applied differently by each vendor. So compare prices from B&H, Adorama, Amazon, and Newegg. They are all superb.

yeah! sometimes patience will work.

the next time Canon will have Rebates will probably be late-Fall.

They generally do 2 rounds of Rebates a year. Summer and Late-Fall/Winter.

i remember when B H use to have those coupon codes. remember those?

The coupon codes were great. I think they gave them out at photo conventions to attendees.

I just bought a 70-200 2.8 IS from the imaging world on ebay. They're an authorized dealer. After the bing.com cashback it cost something like $1402 for a ux code USA version. Not a bad deal.
