Well done. The background could use a bit of neutralising (it's very red) but the object itself is great.

Thanks guys!

I tend to have issues with backgrounds. I am either too this or too that. I was trying to avoid the usual, "too green!" comments.

Hey it worked! :D

Aside from the color balance issue it looks great Mark. Nice tight stars and focus looks dead on.

Take a look at this image along side yours with the histogram window open in PS. Note the channel spikes are more in alignment(I did a very quick adjustment). A sample of the background should show close to R=25, G=25 and B=25.

Thanks for the tip Steve.

I will re-process it over the next few days and see what I can do about that.

Very nice work. Now, I need to finish up my telescope project so I can start imaging.

OK, I reprocessed it from the raw frames. Also after re-reading the image posing guidelines I see I am permitted to post a larger version.

Nice processing the second time around and a great capture. good star shape corner to corner. I personally would back off the blacks a tad, looks a little too black now.

Alot better and very nice capture . I don't know if it's my monitor or what but i still see a purple outline around the brighter stars . Being an AP Scope this cannot be CA so must be something due to processing or something with my monitor .

It's the processing.

I tend to have a heavy hand with this aspect of the hobby. Like a bull in a china shop! lol

If only I had unlimited time to learn and to practice.

I appreciate your critique and tips guys!

Must be your monitor. I didn't touch it since I posted it.

If you fancy turning Image Editing OK on under your profile we could perhaps show you the results of some further stretching...there is a lot more data in there yet :-). There is a bit of purple fringing though. The background however is gloriously uniform, you must have fantastic skies

Chris,

If you want I could send you the tiff file. It's still 16bit so it's about 87 megs.

I could just send you a link so you can download it if you wish.

In the meantime I will turn on Image Editing OK.
