how on earth do i get my prints to match my monitor?

I can get them really close, but everything that should be brown has an obvious green tint to it when printed.

- calibrated dell 30" monitor (huey pro)
- lightroom (latest)
- canon pro 9000 printer
- canon paper
- correct paper/printer profiles used in LR
- turned off all printer management

i seriously can't figure out what is going on.

i need something that can calibrate my monitor & printer, but don't want to spend $500 on a spyder3studio

any tips?

if it matters any, i had about 200 8x10's printed by mpix, and they looked just like they did on my screen.

here's what i have everything set as:

- canon "photo paper plus glossy"
- print quality "custom" (quality: 1, halftoning: auto)
- canon pro 9000 SP1 is supposed to be the profile for "photo paper plus glossy"

only thing i haven't tried is setting "Media Type" to "other photo paper".

Obvious questions first: You're using Photo Paper Plus Glossy?
You did a nozzle check?
Ink cartridges full?

SP = Photo Paper Plus Glossy PP-101
PR = Photo Paper Pro PR-101

"Media type" in Lightroom only influences the output sharpening, so I suspect you're referring to "Media type in the printer driver? I'd think that should be set to Glossy, but I don't use Canon papers, so I'm not sure.

Do you have other color managed applications you can print from?

yes to all 3, even tried new ink tanks (all legit Canon ink)

Hmmm. Since the mpix images looked fine, I'd guess that something else is off... (Assuming no color correction by mpix).

Do you have any other color managed software to print from?

What OS? 64 bit? (If so: Try 32 bit)

I think you ought to consider buying some paper from Red River, such as Arctic Polar Satin or Luster. They have profiles for the 9000 that match their paper. As crazy as it sounds, I get much better color rendition with Red River papers than Canon papers with my i9900.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I've used RR papers exclusively for a couple of years now. My only complaint (coming from Ilford Galerie papers) was the lighter weight. But now that they sell Arctic Polar Luster, that problem has gone away. It is a great paper.
