Ordered a 70-200 f/4 IS. I used to be able to hold on to money before I got roped in.

Technically, you can now update your signature. Sweet lens, I have the non IS version and I love it. It was my first "L" and I can't seem to get rid of it. I have on occasion needed a 2.8 but I always seem to make this one work out. Have fun and look forward to seeing that duck shot.

My bank account is much healthier when I limit my time on this site. ;)

Agreed! This site always seems to point out exactly which lens you "need". (Where need is all relative to your ability to spend money.)

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Oh man, I know the feeling. After I picked up this lens, sinking in over 1k+ over a lens?! I had nothing but serious regrets...

about why I didn't buy it earlier

It's a great lens! The resolution is so good you can keep digitally zooming in and zooming in and zooming in until you get to one pixel and it still looks great :)

Oh one more thing,

After you get the 70-200 f4 IS,

Stay clear of the L lenses for a bit.

Then do yourself a favor and sell your Tamron 17-50 and the 28-135 and 70-300 IS, then get a 17-55 IS 2.8.

It's not an L lens so it's safe to get :)

I had the Tamron 17-50 before, loved it. But oh man the 17-55 IS is sooo nice. So what makes the Canon sexier? I love the contrast compared to the Tamron, the IS, the quiet and fast focus, I love the build. On my 50D the 17-55, it basically takes up most of the "ice time" (Sorry I'm a hockey nut)

Foggy
