Turning off rapid flash red eye reducer on Canon 50D

I've tried to look, how do I disable the rapid flash red eye reduction using the internal flash. In some cases, I don't mind that the flash will come on, but the rapid flash draws way too much attention.

First of all, welcome ! Lots to learn here....lots of folks to bounce ideas and questions off of.
To your question: page 179 of your manual, custom function 3-5, choose zero, one or two depending on what you want it to do.
