I once asked this quistion because i have studio lights too, i used to go to peoples houses and take family portraits with my trusty old minolta 7xi (still have it). I'd like to use my G6 for some portrait work of my kids but the voltage is too gight and could do some serious damage, the only i will be able to use it is to use the jessops digy flash gun i bought, i have used a standard hot-shoe flash sync adaptor with flash gun for some off camera tests and it worked no problem so this would mean i could some how trap it to one of the studio light's and use the extended flash sync cord to fire the slaves and hopefully i will a studio set up again??!! We will see......
Good luck on your requist from others.

More experimentation than anything else,
but i was wondering whether it would be possible to connect a G6 to ettl synch chords and 1 or 2 strobe light / umbrellas and to use use my 420ex speed light.
Planning on using either 1 strobe c/w reflector and 420ex for various portraits.
Im new to this lighting studio stuff.. and plan on using friends and family for practise...
technically is it possible without a DSLR ?? to configure lighting etc, i realise a G6 is not the perfect tool for blurring backgrounds... post processing does wonders though.
