Bluish cast on G6 pics

Not surprisingly, I have noticed a blue cast to many of my 'sunny day' pics taken with the G6 even with the regular non-Vivid setting especially on white subjects. I know it's the effect of skylight but it's really pronounced more than the effects I see with film.

Even with a polarizer, I get this problem. I don't shoot that often on sunny days, anyway, but find it annoying - I wonder if the 1A filter would help.

Any advice?

Try changing the white balance either use a custom setting using a reference or a preset. My G3 is the same and a custom setting or a cloudy WB on a sunny day gets rid of the blue cast. The preview screen shows the effect quite clearly.

Thanks. I'll have to play with the WB settings.

Hi there, i do like your shots. You have a shot in your favs' of fireworks, please tell me what your settings were, because i don't think there is the option of "bulb" option on my G6?

Thanks.

No there isn't. I just practiced timing my shutter release with the loud boom of the launch and lucked out on a few. I used 15 sec exposures with the ND filter turned on.

Thanks for your comments!
