I see you guys pair the Xs with some *heavy* lenses such as the 24-70 L or 70-200 f2.8 L

Having any problem with the unbalanced weight?

Great pics. I am a newbie to DSLR. Do you mind sharing some techniques you used for these pictures i.e. settings on camera, lens use, any post processing at all on these photos?

Thanks

Might want to shoot him a PM considering upgraded and probably will never view this thread again.

While my longest and heaviest lens is nowhere near the weight of the ones you mentioned, it doesn't feel unbalanced at all. Takes a few minutes to adjust, but that's about it. I picture putting a 70-200 2.8 on it and it snapping right off, lol. But nah, the XS can hold it.

Stopped raining so I ran out and grabbed some shots. The rings are a different color each night, of course I got boring white

Skyrocket1668 buy Understanding Exposure the Book, its a fantastic easy read! Settings change from scenario to scenario, but as a starting point try Av mode! But honestly buy the book and learn manual! And post lots of pics:)

Thanks Ashley, Hopefully they will light the rings up with all the colors soon, not just alternate between colors. Great shots on your flickr, your son sure likes spiders...:)

Agreed, the blur is distracting. A ND filter is high on my list of needed gear, I had some more shade in the last shot that let me keep the shutter open longer, but the second was just getting too blown out. I will definitely hit that spot again after I get an ND, or maybe a little after sundown.

you could always focus with your lens wider, throw it into manual focus then close up your lens and drop your iso to 100 so you can have a longer shutter time. That's normally what I do :P (since I don't have a ND either)

Do you mean auto focus, then hit manual focus and raise to a higher F? Never thought about trying that.

Anyone know where I can get a cheap bag. Preferably the Canon 200dg or any of the Lowepro flipsides for under 40?
