Take picture, move camera to the left/right a little, take another picture....rinse and repeat.

There's a program that comes with your camera that can stitch them.

There's a PhotoStitch program on the CD I think (I don't know, not on this computer, and I use PS).

Put it in manual, get the exposure right, and then keep the settings for all the other pictures you take.

I'm certainly not the expert, but as others have said - put the camera in manual, set the exposure for the brighter part of the scene, then start at one end of the scene and keeping the camera level shoot across till you have all the pix you need.

Stitch it all together on the computer and you get stuff like this:

...and here's a good example of when you set your exposure on a darker part of the scene. Don't do this:

I shot the parking lot example above in portrait mode, but no, I haven't gone "up" yet. I'm in Los Angeles. Everything is flat :)

hi,

Here are a couple of my favorite pictures I've taken with the XS:

1. Saint something or another, Paris, France (kit lens):
2. Some random lizard in Northern Arizona, USA (Canon 70-300mm USM):

The camera's only limitation is the kit lens, which isn't all that bad either, but still.

I decided to brave the cold this morning and went for a drive up around Mt. Rushmore. Temps were in the negative single digits so I didn't stick around too long and there was no way I was setting up the tripod. All shots are SOOC and shot with my cheapie 75-300. The high amounts of white show the limitations of this lens. Made me think I was in the 70s with all the purple fringe on some of the shots I took.
