YankeeMom Goldmember More info | This is a shot I took of my son in the living room. We were standing next to the window for natural light and that made the background black. It worked out really well considering it was impromptu. XS w/50mm 1.8 Kristin

I tend to use it a lot, but I just like being able to have more control over my shots. Canon t3i, Sigma 17-50 f2.8, Rokinon 8mm fisheye, Canon 50 f1.8, Canon 55-250

You either have to change your zoom or your position. Or you could manual focus on the exact spot that you want. I just feel like it gives me a tool to fine tune my shots with, when I feel like getting technical. Canon t3i, Sigma 17-50 f2.8, Rokinon 8mm fisheye, Canon 50 f1.8, Canon 55-250

For situations like that, I just tilt the camera a bit, I'm usually not so picky with my framing. I'm scared of manual focus because I'm afraid to get it slightly off, and using Live View to precisely manual focus is inconvenient for me.
