that's a really cool composition with those two images next to each other. Would be a SICK add for mitso. if it was an evo instead of the 3

Outstanding shots, but also a great example of when the rule of thirds could be broken to make the car really stand out.

nah man those are still rule of thirds you have a 1/3 to 2/3's asymmetry

1 No one is trying to tell a teacher. Just because you're in school learning all the rules does not mean everyone else has to follow those rules.

This thread was started to share photos from the xs not as a critique thread (that would be "critique corner"). 2 If someone posts and ask for a critique that's one thing, but most people here just enjoy taking photos and want to share; they're not planning a gallery showing.

And remember art is subjective, what you might see as technically imperfect could be another's treasure. Please keep that mind when you're throwing out your opinions unsolicted. Maybe, instead just pointing out what you see as wrong with a photo,3 you could temper your suggestions by pointing out the positives as well? I say this, because to me you come across as harsh and as a know-it-all and this may not be your intention at all.

1. Actually not in school for photog right now
2. I figure that more than %90 of people want to be better photogers, and if we are just "sharing" then approving comments is also critique.
3. Sorry have interacted with a LOT of deaf culture where you don't "sugar coat" stuff so picked up on it.
and a side note...whats that gnar looking thing in your pic? infected tear duct?

Can't remember if I threw this up on here but I will.

I meant do landscape and have the car in the center
The car would've been the center of attention and appeared bigger, the extra 30% of pavement or trees is unneeded, just like the grass in the lamb pic.

oh yeah you'd just have to make sure that the car is definitely the focal point though.

kinda like this guy I did...extreme example :p.

YEAP! Awesome pic, it's a car not trees. But of course you could say there's a birthday candle coming out of it........
When you actually look at a car or a flower, or even a goat, you don't always stand off to the side to see what it would look like in wide angle.
But the girl, I'm just drawn to here face, but if her face was in the center and surrounded by grass and weeds it wouldn't be so compelling.

I'm still in the "snapshot" phase of my learning, though. Just enjoying anything anything i see as beauty.
