I have pretty much decided on getting a 7D, 15-85mm and Nissin Di866 combo in a couple of weeks.

Go on down to a local photography store and bring your wife, show her that the 7D is great, put on burst mode and get that 8fps, perhaps she will be impressed :P?

That would be a good idea, but no shop in town stocks anything better than a 500D :lol:

Well good for you :P
Too bad you don't have them! Although the capital here is small, we do carry almost everything (including 1DsMKIV's and 600F4L's :P)

I wasn't sure where to put this, but since I have an XS, and had to tell SOMEONE about how excited I am, I thought I'd share.

Last summer I was at the ALMS races in Elkhart Lake, WI. I took this picture while I was there and decided to have it framed!

That is a awesome shot! What lens did you use for it?

Here are mine from yesterday.

So at exactly 7PM today a fire engine came to a nearby house along with a police car, we thought that it's nothing too important. Next 5 minutes 2 fire engines join the first one. Then, they kept pouring in with a total of around 6 fire engines and 5 fire vehicles.
I walked down there with my DSLR and snapped some shots. Thankfully the fire did not spread, all I saw were firefighters that were going into the house pouring water and investigating. I believe the fire was just something that started in the kitchen or so, I have not gotten any information but will check with the neighbors tomorrow.

Here are some photos:\
