70-200 f4l is a great lens. Purchase it! You won't regret it. I have used mine a sh1tload since I bought it, on a crop its probably the sharpest lens in canons current stock. Atleast from my experience, whilst on a full frame it vignettes slightly but is great for portraits and headshots.

Took this shot across the dancefloor whilst sitting in the bar with a beer, no IS and really low light.

Still very sharp, the glossy feel to it is too much noiseremoval from my side.

Lots of old stuff but hey I am a student

GREAT shot! Please give us the story/details behind this shot. What equipment? Post-processing?

Thank you, thank you!

Well, the shot was taken from one of the viewpoints along the road that goes up to one of the ski centres near Vancouver. The views from there are absolutely SPECTACULAR, and I only managed to capture a tiny portion of that with this shot.

Setup:
Rebel XS with Canon 55-250mm lens.

Settings:
65mm, f9, 10s exposure. 5 shots, stitched together in PS.

Post-processing was fairly simple. Once the shots were stitched together, all I did was adjust the blacks slightly with the Levels tool, adjust the colours slightly, upped the shadows 1-2%, and aligned to make the horizon straight.

Anyways... I hope that helps and thanks for your comment.

should I move up to the Canon 70-200 EF 70-200mm zoom 1:4 L USM lens, and sell my 28-135 IS lens, leaving me with my sigma 17-70 lens. I am confused what to do?
