Hi, I have just bought a 1000d + 55-250 lens, should be here in a day or two. I have had a fair few cameras, point and shoot and dslr, but decided on canon now as my daughter also uses canon so we can swap/share lenses etc and also some of the great reviews and photos I have seen on the net . I have seen some great shots on here too and really looking forward to getting it. Love the pebbles! jacqui.

laurts, from a newbie gimme more details on how you achieved that shot. looks like aperture wide open, high iso, superfast shutter?

Speedlite was off the camera,pointed from the right at 1/64 power.

70-200 f/4L not a bad lens for birding as well if your close to the action.
These were slightly cropped, added contrast and a bit of sharpening.
