You have to make sure you get a white market Sigma and not a grey market for the 4 year warranty.
I trust B&H...I've given them a lot of my retirement $'s in the past dozen or so years.

I love the build and feel... also the fact that it's a 77mm thread so my filters for the 24-70 and 70-200 2.8 will fit it. They aren't real easy to find for sale either but today happens to be your luck day!!! I'm about to put my Sigma 50mm 1.4 up for sale as I STUPIDLY bought an 85L for a great price thinking that I would just flip it and make some extra cash... Well I took about three pics with the 85L and decided it's not leavin unless it's for the 50L. So that means the Sigma's gotta go! PM me if you are interested. It is like BRAND NEW! Would the Sigma warranty apply to a re-sale?

To be honest, the company doesn't have the time to check if you are the original buyer, as long as you have proof that 'someone' bought it from an authorized dealer within it's warranty period. 6D Rokinon 14 f/2.8 l EF 35 ƒ1.4L l EF 135 ƒ2.0L l EF 70-200 ƒ2.8L IS II l YN460 l 580EX II l Flick'd

If they question you, just say your uncle's name is on the receipt becaust it was a gift, or something like that. Taylor

Most of the reviews list "heavy" as the most mentioned con of the Sigma. I can get a feel of this when comparing it to the 1.4 lbs. of my 17-55mm f/2.8 which I use most of the time but admit that it does get heavy for extended walking periods. The Sigma comes w/a lens hood, the Canon is extra of course @ $26.95. ![]() Nearly every reviewer/owner says they would recommend both lenses to a friend. I'm not yet sold on either right now. Is it just me ? But I would not let the weight of any of these lens be a factor. Hi

I traded it in for a sigma 30 1.4 and I am in love! I don't think I'd ever buy the canon version again. That said- some folks love theirs. I would buy sigma hands down! *aMy*

In fact, it's on order with B&H and should be here in a few days (free shipping). ![]() The weight difference and size were two deciding factors for me along with the many good reviews that I've read on line. It wasn't an easy decision but it's made. Dont feel like its a hard decision. The Canon 50 f/1.4 is a decent performer at f/1.4. The bokeh isn't bad either. My Canon 50 f/1.4 has been extremely accurate regardless of length. 5Dmkiv |5Dmkiii | 24LmkII | 85 mkII L | | 16-35L mkII | 24-70 f/2.8L mkii| 70-200 f/2.8 ISL mkII| 600EX-RT x2 | 580 EX II x2 | Einstein's

I sold my Sigma though, bought the 50L, and haven't even thought about buying gear since. Best lens purchase I've ever made. Perry | www.perryge.com

Just wondering because I recently bought an 85L because the price I got it at was a steal and that's the only reason... I planned on flipping it. But I do like the 50mm focal length better, i just fell in love with the pictures I got from the 85. Is the 50L similar or better?

The 85L wipes the floor with the 50L. But having a solid 50 is hard to beat. I use the 50L a lot more, but the 85L is the superior lens, by quite a bit. Having both is pretty epic. That's what I figured, but I do love the 50 focal length so I had to ask. Wish I could afford both right now, but ain't no way! Didn't even think I could afford the 85L, but I'm gonna have to because it's not leavin for a while unless it's for a Mark II version. I just can't wait till I get used to it as there is a slight learning curve to the 85, or maybe I just suck that bad... lets hope it's a learning curve!
