I love #1, the view it gives of the entire area, and the reflection in the water, just gorgeous!

Out of curiosity, what settings do you use to get such clear fireworks?

GEAR: XTi, Canon 85 f/1.8, Canon 17-85 f/4-5:6., Yongnuo YN560, Crumpler 5MDH,

Two things you need are a tripod and a remote shutter.

Next I shoot in Manual mode with two fixed variables

TV = bulb
ISO = 100

The size of the aperture is relative fractions to the focal length. generally
F 8 - F 16. the greater the focal length. At 105mm I used F13

What bulb allows you to do is manually control the shutter, basically you can hold down for 1-2 second or longer at 2-5 seconds.

I had some fun and timed it according to color and what pattern the conception of the snap had, and on the spot i decided to either let it go quick or keep it going a little longer.

I moved around the tri controls of the tripod to make the positioning look a little different.

It was fun but it's a little bit of work

Great pictures! I'm pretty sure I took a shot of that bridge in your first picture I think... I went there a few years ago on holidays.

The bridge you have is King Edward bridge that is on the other side (not far) , the bridge you see on the first shot is a railroad bridge over the Ottawa River , that isn't used anymore. Hope you had a good trip while you were here.
