$800 ain't worth what it used to be.

$800 won't buy very much any more, but it's not very easy to come by.

Wool, nice travel photos since last night!

I always think of that movie "Electra Glide in Blue" when I hear The Superstitions. All this Arizona talk and imagary gets me pumped up for our trip comeing up in 17 days. I hope I kick this cold thing so I can enjoy the scenery. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some gold for ya Woolburr.

I suspect I'll have to go back out at the end of rental season so I can do some additional searching. In the mean time, I have lots of photos to study to see if I can find any of the clues.

Would be nice to go back to Az....I thoroughly enjoyed it...

Although with the "in-laws" with me & my wife, I wasn't able to do half the things I'd do without them - in terms of wandering aimlessly about....

I wouldn't know how to act if I had that kind of freedom.

I'd probably just go find some railroad tracks and sit there till a train went by. I really don't have a lot of imagination.

$800 divided by $3.09 = 258.9 gallons of gas. divided by 7mpg my old 2500 dodge pickup with the v-10 would get me 1812.3 miles down the hwy.
I sure am glad I traded the dodge in for a little Honda, I can now transport my Canon 8025.9 miles for the same $800 investment with Chevron, oh wait,I just heard them rattaling those metal price numbers on the sign again, I wonder which way I'll have to readjust my math.

I've found Bay Area gas prices to be higher than just about anywehre else in California. California is just about the highest in the country.

Congratulations.

Electra Glide in blue came out in the mid to late 70's. Basically it was a movie about an Arizona Motorcyle Patrolman. I recall some sunbaked hermit giveing the Patrolman advice about The Superstitions. If you do watch it, be warned that the ending for me was disturbing.

Sounds exciting to me. The last time I went "Foaming" was probably 10 years ago. I had some 3megapixel Olympus something or other, and we were looking for the last of the "bloody noses" (Southern Pacific Gray and Scarlet). The "Banannas" (newly appointed Union Pacific number) really contrasted with the weather beaten SP colors.
