That's a slick move...

Reminds me of this one (external link) by Mike Legg of Michigan in '96.

Personal Connection: My BIL was the videotape operator on the receiving end of this shot so he claims total responsability for it being available today!

Or that...

35/85 - L or non-L?

The 85/1.8 is nice on the 40D, closest thing to a 135/5D.

Both L, I sold off the 85 /1.8 along with the Sigma 105 macro to partly fund the 35L.

Just in the getting to know you stage with the 35L. Liking it so far.

It's not that the imperial system is useless, but it is a pain. 12 inches to a foot, 3 feet to a yard, 1760 yards to a mile, vs 10 cm to a decimeter, 10 decimeters to a meter, 10 meters to a dekameter, 10 dekameters to a hectometer, 10 hectometers to a kilometer... It's all 10s and it makes converting them much easier. :p

Best thing I ever did recently was add a couple of buttons for our CAD users that allow them to swap between metric, feet/inches, inches/inches as the measurement system in our CAD program. Press a button and you are drawing in the new units, press another to switch again. So much of our old stuff is in feet and inches, but all the new is in metric - makes for fun at old sites.

Yeah, I am constantly converting from one to another since moving over here...I have several tables so i can quickly decipher between metric and imperial units..

A lot of the 3D models I've been doing have been in ' " so this has made thigns very easy to switch. I just keyin the values in ' " or mm whatever suits.

With all the technology available to us today...swapping between units of measurement is really not all that complex....as for the argument about having two sets of tools....that also falls into the no big deal category. In fact, I bet Boeing or any other manufacturer would throw in a set of tools if they really felt that was what was going to make or break the deal.

I don't know how many here have seen this, but Romy the Bird Man posted these 5D2 videos taken with the 100mm Macro and a 2x TC of bugs, pretty cool macro stuff:

https://photography-on-the.net …?p=8853881&postcount=1633

Of course, regarding the current discussion, I don't know how that would translate to inches...makes the brain hurt sometimes...:)
