Nasty, nasty, nasty.

8GB SDHC card from a premium brand name just failed on me. I/O errors right left and center. Tried Windows, Mac, two different readers, no dice.

It reminds me of the last time a non-premium-brand card simply snapped while I was loading it into the slot. Fortunately, unlike the last time, the data on THIS card isn't very important. I was taking the HMC150 on a familiarization shoot (ie. shoot for fun at nothing at all to learn the camera's functions)

Still, it's really $#(!ing annoying. Only good thing I guess is that this card is backed by a lifetime warranty so I will be returning it. I seem to have very bad luck with SD cards - none of my CF through the years (since 2000!!) have done this to me.

He is really "sneaky" about it. One paw, then another then all of a sudden "HI!"

His legs are long enough that usually he is more straddling you while in a lawn chair than actually sitting on you :-D.

That sounds likes my parents lab... he's about 120 lbs and he loves being in your lap! Once he boinked off the floor straight into the recliner with my mom... My dad was glad they didn't turn over because he wouldn't have been able to save mom... he was laughing TOO hard!!!!

No subject to change...there are a couple of people that belong to f/32 here in Asheville that have 3800s and are very happy with them. The results that they have shared have been pretty impressive for home printing.

First I have ever heard of the f32. But it appears they have some php issues.

Afternoon all - hope everyone is relaxing!

Belmondo - good to see your avatar back, but didn't you shave the mustache? We demand a new avatar! ;)

Crazy weekend for me. Drove to DC yesterday to shoot my first engagement (a freebee for friends to help build my portfolio and skills). Horrific weather on the drive up, but once I got to DC it was 18% gray but no rain. We managed to get a couple of hundred snaps in front of the capital building, and then moved to the US Botanic Gardens across the street when the rain came. Overall pretty good, and I shot about 600 - of which I think there will be 70 or 80 winners.

I'll simply be mailing them a CD with the images (I made them promise not to process at Wal-Mart), and have a quick question. Do I send them all of the photos, or just the ones that I think are best?

What's the normal protocol?

Off to shoot some fall colors. We have a bit of sunshine today!

The clean-shaven look only lasted two days before my wife decided I should grow it back. It's been about a week and a half, and is just starting to look like a real mustache. Another week, it should be pretty good again.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I would send the ones you think are best, and if you want, send in a separate folder the rest of them, because there's always a possibility that they'll like some of the ones you didn't.

Just send the best...that is more than an ample number for that kind of shoot.

I no longer participate in the group...there were some serious issues with organization....there are still a few talented folks that remain.

Thanks Dan and James - that was the direction I was leaning towards.

It's always so much easier to ask the seasoned hands here or the Wedding Chit Chat thread, than to go get torn to shreds in TBOP forums.

Appreciated.

I’m not a particularly good writer, nor do I enjoy it much – but for some reason, what stared off as two simple paragraphs simply became longer and longer.

I have no idea why.

You can read about my misadventures here:

https://photography-on-the.net …php?p=8892908#post8892908

…and perhaps have a small chuckle at my expense ;)

Perhaps someday, I will be as good as Mario…

Hey all, I've had hectic days and haven't gotten much forum time lately so trying to catch up!

A week or so ago the Zombie Walk events came up. Portland had theirs yesterday afternoon, it swarmed with photogs in-costume and out, I came home with over 500 shots and am just now processing the 400 I have left from the first culling, but here is one that I thought was cute -- an obviously loving couple sharing a Kodak moment:

Very cool, Tony! Dang, I wish I would have known about this. I would have been there for sure. It was such a beautiful day.
