Cool looking old house Dan. I remember driving through Georgia when I was in the army and seeing lots of houses that looked about like that. Most of them had people living in them.

This one is in VA....along the Blue Ridge Parkway...just an old farmstead that the NPS keeps up.

:lol::lol::lol:

We did quite a bit of traveling when I was a kid and of all the places we went, the one that has really stuck with me all these years was our stop at Cade's Cove.

I can still remember looking around the valley and feeling an increadible sense of melancholy as the guide was talking about how the residents were born, lived and died without ever seeing anything beyond the hills we could see.

I still kind of get the willies when I think about it. <Shudder>

Yep....many a person lived their whole lives within the confines of that valley....they didn't even have a Hooterville or a Pixley to run to. Gatlinburg and Sevierville were foreign lands beyond the safety of the valley....best left to travelin' men.

Love the old ford tri-motor. i got to ride in one years ago. Slow and loud but a lot of fun.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
