Happy Birthday Mike!

Now that I am back in town, I have a few more photos from the wedding.

Some getting ready stuff.

A few group shots

The groom is on ski patrol, so I bought one set of my skis as props.

Great shots looks like a great location also.
wow has it been hot in oregon the last few days

Edit. just saw happy late birthday mike.

Nice people Dan.

I've just turned down a wedding. Friend of my Sister in law (I did that wedding early last year) saw her album and wanted to know if I was willing to do her wedding. Not my gig though. Money would have been nice.......

Happy (belated?) Birthday Mike.

Hey Sid...scare any over-heated cats today?

No cats Wool, but I've been staying pretty close to home in this heat. Saturday evening I go cat hunting again!!:D

Wool, interesting processing on the people, the second one works best for me.

Ahh, our prospective Nikon hopefuls will be overjoyed.

The 70-200 VR is finally released as a FX lens ;) (or we hope ;) )

I kinda like the new version's look better than the old one. The new one has cleaner lines and a more consistent barrel diameter like our 70-200L.

Those who follow the Other Cult of L[eica] have something pretty to drool over too.

I prefer the red ring to the red circle, not least because the red ring is more affordable. Check out the price tag on that 'red circle' gear!!

I know I'll never own such equipment, but I would like to see it in action sometime. They certainly picked an unusual sensor size.

Nah. I'd rather have the Leica if you're into granting wishes.

I can only imagine how much this one is going to cost...the current one is over 1900.00 with shipping  I think I'll stick with mine.

edit: I take that back. It's over 2K with shipping. The "import" version is $1900

oh and what's weird is that the import version and the usa version are different prices. For the 24-70 and the 14-24...they are the same

yeah okay...I'm so tired of these insane prices. In Dec. I thought they were high....but they've gone up almost $400 since then.

Which is why I am not so tempted by glass nowadays.

Was considering the 70-200/2.8 ISL, but after the 724ISL's absolutely phenomenal performance at a recent concert where I shot over 3K frames, virtually all coming out magnificent, I think I am going to stay with this f/4.

Lots of people tell me 'you need f/2.8' till I almost start to believe it. You don't. The results speak for themselves - and I've spent the last five solid days staring at them to try and finish PP'ing them all. Background blur, subject isolation, yet maintaining proper DOF - it's all there. "more blur at 2.8" - so what - I talk to the 135/2.0 when I want to nuke backgrounds.
