It is still my favorite lens. Wow, considering all the lenses you have and have had, that's high praise for the brick!!! A few times, I've been tempted to sell my 24-105 and get one. About a year ago, Scott and I traded my 24-105 for his brick for the weekend. I liked it a lot.

(JSolie) How're things on your side of the mountains? Thanks! Things are going okay...the boys got back from summer camp yesterday, and things are just about at their normal decibel level. My youngest found his book of Star Wars sheet music and has been regaling me with all sorts of different pieces...I'm rather partial to Yoda's theme today for some reason. He got more use of it in his first 2 weeks than I did the whole time I had it. For that matter, I'm still trying to find any photos I actually took with it, although I know here are some, somewhere.I'm all for the Brick! Jon

Here is the thing, since Curt got the 1D Mark III he has taken over the Tamron 28-75 because the 17-50 causes vignetting, leaving me without a walk about lens. So I told him this morning I would like to get the 24-70 ordered so I will have it next Saturday when the photo club tours Chicago aka The State of...see above. Much to my surprise the only thing he said, "Does it come with a lens hood?".
