Hey now! I'm awake too. What about me??!!

LOL!! sure. And you're my English major. You have any suggestions for a re-write of that line?

Thanks Fafa, I like where you are going with that but I'm trying to figure out a way to remove "couple".

I have an ear infection :(

I got water in my ear the first day I couldn't get out and it bothered me ever since, this morning it is on fire!! time to visit my SIL.

Dang.

Ew ew ew! Sorry, but that's so much worse! And it even includes one of my biggest pet peeves! You don't pluralize a word by inserting an apostrophe! Ew ew ew!!!

I know it's worse silly. (It's the same syntax it would follow in spanish).

And oh, crap....where the heck did that apostrophe come from. GAH!!! I hate that too!!! GAH!!!

I left a wonderful suggestion too:roll: I want credit for the word "together" if you use it. Maybe a little Z.G. next to it.

I need some help. I'm not usually at a loss where grammar is concerned but I am today.

In the sentence (or rather the beginning of the sentence) "There's a moment in every couple's (life or lives) when time stands still." I'm trying to figure out if it's "life", since "couple" is a singular entity? Or "lives" because they are two people in the unit? I'm almost positive it's singular but it looks better plural.

Does anyone here know for sure?

Quite interesting the different takes on it. I too would go singular with "life", because you are talking about a "couple", one entity here. I also think that "lives" both looks and sounds wrong in this case. Regardless, rewording is likely the best option. Isn't it Wu that knows proper English well, or was it someone else.

LOL  It was wonderful Z :)

My only thought is that couple implies 2 people together so I didn't use together...

The only reason I'm going through this all is because we staged a shot where the B&G stand still and have a slow shutter/lot of action with the attendants. Cat heard them talking later about "why did she have your eyes closed" and no one seemed to understand what we were doing. So while the photo will be given to them w/o a caption...the first time they see it, the caption will be there to give them the idea for the shot.

It isn't often I meet a guy shorter than me. Maybe I live in a world of giants here on the other coast, but my 5'8" frame keeps me looking up every time I try to talk to someone face-to-face...

How about this: Time stands still when we're together....
(with due credit to Zane) :D

or

Now that we're together the clock stopped ticking. When's dinner? Seriously? It's been 2:30 for days.
