Oh, I almost forgot, Baxter breakthrough, I hope...

This weekend I tried him walking through our yard with his lead dragging but having him stay with me as I did this and that. Tonight on his retractable lead, we did our usual routine of checking the mail after he was done fertilizing the lawn. Usually he runs to the end, so as he started to do this tonight I said the same commands I used when he was dragging the lead and he didn't yank to the end but came back close. Not a heel, exactly but not pulling. So then I tried him with heading across the street, it didn't work as well, but; he did eventually come back to a loose lead. So we'll keep working on this and hopefully the heeling will continue to come along too.

The thing I like about the POTN strap is the extenders can snap together and form a nice hand strap for me. I use it that way when ever I'm on a shoot. For me it is much easier.

Same for me tho I am sure I'll get a handstrap soon as I like having one on when I use the R strap and I've been using it almost exclusively lately.

For October, I'm thinking this will probably be Curt's decision on destination. After two trips without him, I think he is due the choice this time. However, throwing out suggestions, is quite open.

Well time for me to call it a night...and the defrag continues. Sure hope it is done by morning. Wouldn't think it would take this long as I have only had this computer since, December.

Look look look! :D :D

I got an E-mail from Joey's new foster mom.
I had written them a letter and included a CD of images that I told them they could use for any purpose they wanted. I love what they did with them! :D

Hi Cathy!

I'm sorry it took so long for me to email you about Joey, but it's been a crazy weekend! Joey had a really rough time after the surgery and we had to rush him to the vet on Saturday because the pain was so bad. They gave him sub-q fluids, tramadol, metacam if he needed it (he got sick on the Rimadyl and we didn't need the metacam) and sucralfate to coat his stomach to offset the upsetting effects of the Cepehalixin. (sp?) Whew! He was in la-la land for a couple of days, but he is doing just fine now. The vet said on Saturday that he was the most miserable Irish Setter she had ever seen. Now, he's totally opposite. They said that his incisions were completely healed and they took out the staples and what a difference!

Thank you so much for all you did for him and the great pictures! His write-up is below and you can see we used your pictures. I could not have done any better; they were fantastic! Please tell me what type of camera you use!

I also thank you for all the very helpful info you sent with him. We didn't get any vet records, but I guess someone will fax them?

Joey wants to say a very big thank roo too, for rescuing him and giving him his first wonderful home.

This guy is very special and I can see why it was so difficult for you to give him up! It will be for me, too. I do promise you this, he will get a fantastic home and I will keep you updated.

Thank you again, for helping this special guy and I hope we can keep in touch!

God Bless YOU for all you did for him!

Warmly,

****

Well...

We went to Illinois for Memorial day then we went to Pennsylvania because Brian is supporting a center out there and while we were there we decided to visit people in Washington DC. We left Pennsylvania to go out to Oregon for vacation and Jonathan and I stayed an extra two weeks. Then we all came back home to leave again to go to Minnesota for an extended july 4th weekend but Brian has to head back to Pennsylvania so Jonathan and I are going too until mid August when we are flying to Washington for a week! *whew*

all in all we'll spend about 2 weeks home in three months
