Kindred spirit!!

If I can ever think of a use for it, I might try it (I don't shoot macro).

I am now a fan of LV and prefer it to Canons AF any time the camera is tripod mounted or the subject is not moving. Canons AF is really good but there is some variability based on the AF sensor size. I like the fact that I can put that focus plane exactly onthe point I want. LV works great for landscapes, portraits, flowers, bugs, architecture, anything that's not moving. It's not so good for moving things.

The joys of country living. Always fun to catch the scurry of fur as fall starts to set in.

And yet, most days, I would not trade it for the world.

Goooooooooooooood morning people!

After catching up...Seems like Terri will be 1.5 hrs away from me. I'll have to make a trip down to CT!

LOL, that'll be fun!

It's not so bad anymore now that suburban sprawl has engulfed us, but we use to have a corn field backing up to our property. When fall came and the farmer started at the far end of the field we use to have a mouse migration as they all skittered away from the harvester. I would set 20~30 traps inside the house and we use to get sometimes 8~10 mice a day. It lasted about 2 weeks or so before we got them under control.

Vampires are cool these days. Not like the old fashion vamps.

Travel safe.

THAT is a lot of mice!

Liar! You contribute lots!

Eeew. I am SO sick of ants in my house. They're just little teeny ones but still. And, there's this weird bug that looks like it has pinchers on its butt..they freak me out.

I don't even know how to turn it on!!

You really have to read the manual to set it up. It's not just a button push.

We had a 600 acre corn field backing up the the yard so it's 600 acres of mice. :). It also depended on which side of the field he started on. When he started next to the house, the numbers were much smaller. It was not unusual to get 50 in a season. Most were caught in the garage before they made their way in but not all. Maybe 1/2 in the garage.

Yeah, on the work thing, not likely anytime soon, I'm afraid. Found out Wednesday they are dropping the group health. Blue Cross Blue Shield wants to raise the premiums 40%. They are keeping us going until September to give us time and options for private insurance. Guess the health of our group along with the current headlines has prompted Blue to try to get some more money while they can.

*deep breath*

:( This so sucks. I will stifle a full blown rant. I am happy with my insurance and medical care. We pay a lot, but Leyla's employer picks up a bit too as part of the plan. Still, given I have over 16k in prescriptions a year and a lot of other very expensive procedures, it is a great deal. I am sick at the idea of the government boogering with my health care. There is nothing they do good. Cheaper maybe but that just means a cut in service. Plus higher taxes to pay for the millions of bureaucrats who will decide what health care a Doctor can administer and how much they can charge. It is really terrifying after watching the pitiful neglect in care my sister is struggling with under the U.K. program. *deletes next 6 paragraphs*

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #8256620 (external link)
I have not had health insurance for years now, mainly because it is just too expensive for individuals or small companies, instead opting to dole out for what is needed. Our health care does not cover eyes, teeth or prescriptions.

Classic socialized medicine. It's great if you are really dying and make it to the top care level. Generally very good medicine at that level. God forbid you are injured or sick and need timely care and diagnostics though.

Gaaa, be back in a better frame of mind, sorry to sound ranty.

Lol at Zane. Health insurance sucks. It's good if you have good stuff...but expensive. My insurance policy is $18K a year. I pay $1800. The school pays the rest. Good insurance...but every increase eats up more and more of our raise.
