But the good news.. I forgot to share. I've had a bug project this summer. We bought some Mantis cases and hatched a bunch of mantids for the garden. For a while we had hundreds of them all skittering around. It then got unseasonably cold and two huge storm right one after the other wiped out our mantids. For the last two weeks we have not been able to spot a single one.

Do they eat Japanese Beetles? Those suckers are eating the blooms on my coreopsis, a bloom a day. Everything I read for insecticide kills honey bees too, so I don't want to go that route. Cheat 'n Fleet has some traps, wonder if they work.

Yep, and I deleted as many paragraphs before posting too. I should be able to sign on to Curt's group, but; guess who the carrier is, Blue Cross and Blue Shield. And I don't know if they have an HSA policy. I'm finally able to use mine and like that option. *sigh*

dear Cat is coming up in a couple of weeks to help me shoot that first wedding. Dan can't go because his mom isn't going to be there and we can't bring Kona if she's not going to be there (she lives in a senior park...it's lucky we're getting to stay there w/o her being there)....so anyway, I'm VERY thankful that Cat was available for a week of travel and shooting.

I'd love to come and observe the two of you doing what you do so well. Lucky B&G.

I suppose so. We have had a real problem with Japanese Beetles as well and this year there are not as many. We'll see as the summer goes on.
